Apply for Water/Gas/Sewer Service(s) – If service line to residence is already available.

If you have any questions or need assistance on filling out forms please call the SAU office(s) at the number listed below.

If you are applying for new service that will need to have a meter tap-in paid you will need to come into the office to apply for service, or call the office to see if other options are available.

Office hours are Monday – Thursday, 7:00 A.M. to 5:30 P.M. except holidays.

To apply for service(s) that is already available at the residence the customer will need to print out the forms Personal Data Summary and the Meter Deposit form.

If you own the residence your deposit will be $ 35.00 for water and $50.00 for gas.  You will need to provide proof of ownership.

If you are renting or leasing the residence your deposit for water will be $75.00 and $100.00 for gas.  You will need to provide a current copy of lease/rent agreement.

There will be a $20.00 connect fee charged for each service being applied for.  If you are applying for water and gas the total for connection fees will be $40.00.

Please answer all of the questions on the Personal Data Summary.  Please fill out the questions on the Meter Deposit Form and fill in the deposit and connection fee amounts. 

You will need to send a check or money order made out to South Alabama Utilities (SAU) when you mail the Personal Data Summary and the Meter Deposit Form for the correct amount.  A copy of your driver’s license must be sent with application, please make sure that the social security number is included on paper work.. If you have questions about what you will need to pay you can contact the office and they will be able to provide you with the correct information.

Mail information and check or money order to the office that will be serving your area, if you do not know please call for assistance.

Service will not be started until all the paper work is completed and money received in mail.  The customer or an adult representative must be at home in order to have gas/water service(s) turned on and the work order must be signed by that person.

If information is faxed SAU will not be able to start service until money is received.

You may  be able to pay online and send a copy of the confirmation with your request for service, please call office to see if this service will be available on new service request.

Customer or a responsible adult representative must be present to sign the work order at the time gas/water service(s) are turned on by South Alabama Utilities serviceman.  Customer will need to contact South Alabama Utilities at either of the following numbers:  Citronelle Office– (251) 866-2365  or   Semmes Office – (251) 649-4316 to schedule an appointment for the serviceman to come to the residence to have service(s) turned on.  

If the water meter is locked out, the customer may request that the lock be removed and the meter valve will be left in the off position. Serviceman will not come back at a later time to turn the valve on for the water service.

Gas service will not be turned on unless the customer or a responsible adult representative are present at the residence, they will also need to sign the work order.

If an appointment is scheduled and the serviceman has to go to the residence a second time to turn gas/water service(s) because the customer did not show up for the first appointment, then a service charge of $25.00 will be charged to the customer’s account.
